Future of the Anthony Theatre

In the spirit of preservation, restoration, and community improvement, the Anthony Theatre must return to its former glory. You might say that it will be a nice place for teens or families to visit on Friday or Saturday nights. Or you might feel that a community theatre would make a great addition to Anthony. Perhaps you are a business owner and envision a place for seminars, lectures, or large meetings at the Anthony Theatre. All of those reasons are great. But what is greater than all is that we can accomplish these things while preserving a part of not only Anthony history, but of art history and Unites States history as well.

No matter what your interest in the Anthony Theatre, most would agree that any time we can preserve an historic building rather than tear it down, we should do so. Not only does it conserve resources, it demonstrates for our children that we cherish the materials, labor, and human hands that went into creating something beautiful for us to enjoy for generations. We must pass that onto our children!

In December, 2008, the Anthony Theatre was purchased from it's previous owner, thanks to the final donation of $17,000 from Randy Patterson of Anthony. This means that we are now able to start applying for grants in early 2009. If you are interested in being part of the team who brings back the Anthony Theatre, just email us! We meet at least once a month, and we need YOUR help to bring the theatre ALIVE!

You can continue helping the Anthony Theatre by donating, or shopping from these online stores. We appreciate all that you might contribute to our cause!
